Lineart can have a lot of personalityĬ) for actually doing lineart in a digital software, i used to sculpt lines out, and that works for some things, it has a lot of flavor but it's pretty tedious and doesn't fit every style. I've also been experimenting with doing lineart last, just for flavor, and focusing on shapes. Also, I've become quite fond of using a very sketchy lineart layer, it's faster and low-stakes.
I noticed that a lot of my favourite artists have wobbly lines or sketchy look.
Hrmm, as someone who is trying to get better at lineart, the best solutions that've worked for me so far:Ī) do the lineart on paper and scan it in, i find that i get nicer lineart when I draw physically with like a fountain pen or sharp pencil rather than digital (experimenting with different pens, pencils and brushes helps but isn't necessary), Note: make sure your paper isn't larger than your scannerī) go for a sketchy, imperfect, or nontraditional look.
